Metroid Samus Varia Suit Design

Quarantine during the coronavirus season turned out to be somewhat of a blessing in disguise. Extra free time meant opportunities to brush up on design skills. I toyed around with the idea of taking Samus's Varia suit to a more modern and detailed aesthetic. The challenge here is to retain the established look and feel while making it feel different from what's done. Not everything's completely fleshed out, but for a sketch, it gets the point across.

An interesting tidbit I discovered during this process is that Samus' body never really fits into the Varia suit properly before.
